Technology – I need a brain upgrade

Wow! When you have put keeping up with technology on the back burner for a few years, it certainly takes some effort to figure out what it is, what you want to do with it, and why you even want to know!  The brain likes taking shortcuts and we are very well wired to be lazy this way.  My foray into this technology land that is pretty much as easy as breathing for the under 30 set has taken the better part of my cerebral cortex for the last few months.  Hmmmm, maybe that is why I ate the lion’s share of a medium pizza last night with no weight gain – my cortex burned up all that oozy, greasy caloric intake on me figuring out how to Skype and access my WordPress site.  Perhaps this is the diet of the week!  I can see the headlines now – lose 10 pounds in one week by trying to figure out one new piece of technology every day.  I don’t know when user friendly veered off into user disdain – if you don’t already know how to use it, why should I even bother trying to explain it to you?  Come on, feel some pity for the over ??? (I won’t reveal) set – give me a set of basic instructions!!! Please!!! I’ll pay!!!
